Promoting Socially Relevant Public Health Projects and Researches: Highlights from the Public Health Conference, SEAMEO TROPMED Philippines, November 13, 2015, Manila, Philippines

The College of Public Health, University of the Philippines Manila, as SEAMEO TROPMED Philippines Center, conducted a Public Health Conference on November 13, 2015. Part of the activities in commemoration of the 50th anniversary celebration of the SEAMEO TROPMED Network, the conference aimed to showcase the current researches and projects undertaken by the institution that demonstrate the social relevance of the outputs of the Regional Center for Public Health, Hospital Administration, Environmental and Occupational Health. A total of 14 papers thematically clustered into the seven public health disciplines taught in the College were presented in the plenary session, while 32 abstracts were made available for viewing in the poster session. Attendees to the conference, numbering 348, represented government agencies, the academe, research organizations, international organizations, and civil society. The conference activities were likewise livestreamed through facilities of the University, and was, thus, made available to the wider public.
