We examined 157 of the indigenous population of Yamal Peninsula (mean age 41,6 years). Of these, 66 patients (average age of 48,6 years) with a diagnosis of “chronic bronchitis”, 91 people from among healthy people (average age 41,5 years), one of the Northern towns on the Yamal Peninsula.Emotional state was assessed on a scale of reactive and personal anxiety (C. D. Spielberger 1972; Yu. L. Khanin, 1976), questionnaire “neuro-psychological adaptation” (Gurvich I. N., 1992). Symptomatic of the questionnaire Alexandrovich “sleep disturbance”. The average trait anxiety score was at the level of high anxiety in individuals with chronic bronchitis compared with healthy (47,42 and 42,85 p=0,05).Persons with chronic bronchitis significantly more likely to mention sleep disturbances in the form of “frequent awakenings at night” (48, 6% and 24, 1% p=0,05).Mental instability, signs of stress were significantly more frequently observed among the natives with «chronic bronchitis» compared with healthy individuals p=0,05. We came to the conclusion that a high level of personal anxiety, mental instability, sleep disturbances in the form of “frequent awakenings at night”, all this testifies to the increased psycho-emotional stress, mental maladjustment of aboriginal people with a diagnosis of “chronic bronchitis”.With this group of people need intervention to improve psycho-emotional state.
