Emission of Auger electrons in pionic atoms and emission of charged particles on capture of r/sup -/ mesons by light (C, N, O) and heavy (Ag, Br) nuclei in nuclear emulsion
1980
Probabilities have been determined for emission of Auger electrons with energy 20--100 keV in pionic atoms of the light (C, N, O) and heavy (Ag, Br) elements: a/sup L/ = (4.4 +- 0.4)%, a/sup H/ = (31 +- 2)%. Relative probabilities are obtained for emission of one, two, three, and four charged particles in capture of r/sup -/ mesons by nuclei of C, N, O and Ag, Br. The total yield of charged particles per capture is (71.5 +- 7.0)% for light nuclei and (67.1 +- 5.4)% for heavy nuclei.
