Coherent optical writing and reading of the exciton spin state in single quantum dots
2011
Coherent manipulation of quantum states is a critical step towards applications in quantum information processing. The atomic-like spectrum of semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) and their compatibility with modern microelectronics make them promising candidates for forming the building blocks of these future technologies. In particular, they form an excellent interface between ying photonic-qubits and anchored matter-spin-qubits.
