A Petri nets based scheduling strategy for vehicle safety performance test system

2018
Focusing on the issue of evaluating operation efficiency for vehicle safety performance test system (vehicle test system or VTS for short) and solving the optimal vehicle scheduling problem, in this paper, Petri nets (PN) are used to establish a batch scheduling model with sequential job processing for the vehicle test system, including PN based vehicle testing process model and corresponding scheduling strategy. A vehicle waiting area is set in the scheduling strategy, on this basis, the complete permutation of vehicles waiting to be tested is generated and simulated in the proposed process model. The experimental results show that, first, the proposed strategy can get the minimum average vehicle test time, which reduces the test time by about 30.58% compared with the commonly used first come first served (FCFS) scheduling strategy. Second, we verify that the capacity of waiting area is 6 can help us obtain the shortest total vehicle test time. General speaking, the proposed strategy has an engineering application value for improving the scheduling performance of the existing vehicle test systems.
