Computed radiographic and computed tomographic diagnosis of pectoral limb fracture in dogs

2019
Computed radiographic (CR) and computed tomographic (CT) images were evaluated for pectoral limb lameness in 5 dogs. CT images were found to be superior for viewing the detailed features of the fractures of pectoral limb compared to CR images. Supracondylar and folding fractures of humerus could be diagnosed with both the CR and CT imaging modalities; however, CR images were found inappropriate to diagnose the fractures of scapula, accessory carpal bone and metacarpal bone, which could be diagnosed by multiplaner reconstructed (MPR) images of the CT.
