Newborn With Severely Depressed Left Ventricular Function: Acute Myocardial Infarction in a Newborn

Abstract We describe a rare case of spontaneous coronary artery thrombosis in a newborn leading to rapid severe ventricular dysfunction. Early diagnosis is critical and management strategies are varied including hemodynamic support with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, systemic/local thrombolytic therapy with tissue plasminogen activator, or surgical thrombectomy.
