Theory of the random bond model

Abstract The free energy of the random bond model is derived as a function of the magnetic moment of each spin by using the pair approximation. The expression obtained is reduced to that of TAP for the SK model. Using this free energy the ± J model with interactions of short range or long range is discussed.
