Production of parts made of high-tc superconductor material

1994
PURPOSE: To easily obtain a cylindrical body or the like made of high-Tc superconductor material by preparing a fine powder contg. Bi, Sr, Ca and oxide of copper and org. additives and subjecting the mixture to casting, molding and heat treating. CONSTITUTION: The fine powder mixture contg. the bismuth, the strontium, the calcium and the oxide of the copper and the org. additives, such as dispersant, binder and plasticizer, is prepd. Further, a solvent consisting of a mixture composed of preferably 20 to 40 wt.% toluene and 80 to 60 wt.% ethanol is added to the fine powder mixture in order to make the mixture castable. The prepd. mixture is then introduced into a rotatable casting circular mold at room temp. and is molded by rotating the mold at a rotating speed in the range of 100 to 6,000 rpm. The molded mixture is heat treated at a temp. of about 600 to 920°C and is converted to a superconductor, by which the cylindrical body or round body made of the high-Tc superconductor material is obtd.
