Analysis of the Distribution patterns of the Blood Components in Dairy Cows

1982
When data on blood components obtained by actual estimation are statistically summarized by using mean and standard deviation, it is necessary for samples to show a normal distribution. In the field of veterinary medicine, however, this necessity has not always been recognized sufficiently. The present experiment was carried out to clarify the pattern of distribution of 16 blood components in dairy cows of the Holstein breed. The data used for the experiment were obtained from the blood components of 82 cows considered to be clinically healthy (a healthy group) and 210 diseased cows (an ill group) . They were examined by the following means.1) Examination in the form of histogram of samples.2) Examination with normal probability paper.3) Examination by the test of goodness of fit for normal distribution by using the chisquare test.As a result, the normal distribution was presented by TP, Alb, Glu, Ca, Mg, IP, and γ-GTP in the healthy group and by Alb, Glu, Ca, and Mg in the ill group. The log normal distribution was exhibited by T.Chol, BUN, GOT, and GPT in the healthy group and by TP, T.Chol, BUN, IP, GPT, and γ-GTP in the ill group.
