Challenges in merging environmental, health, and safety programs after corporate acquisitions

of Environmental Quality Management, we noted that corporate acquisitions pose particular challenges for environmental, health, and safety (EHS) professionals. In that article, we proposed a model EHS due diligence process for organizations that are acquiring companies or corporate divisions.1 In this article, we discuss how to integrate acquisitions into the ongoing activities of the acquiring company. Implementation of a sound merger and acquisition model can help save money, prevent duplication of effort, and avert EHS compliance problems.
