Teacher education courses and completions: Initial teacher education courses and 1999, 2000 and 2001 completions

This publication arises from the need for quality data concerning teacher education. It investigates teacher education programs in universities across Australia and provides student completion numbers from 1999 to 2001 for all teacher education programs as well as specialist courses within programs where appropriate. The investigation shows that there is poor management of data in many cases in Australian universities. The authors are not confident about the quality of data, but hope that the statistics and tables provided will be of some use, and will develop an expectation for better data management.
