Influencing factors on the ampacity of EVs cables

To meet the demand for improved performance of EVs, the ampacity of high-voltage cables for EVs has received more and more attention. Due to the small space and the high ambient temperature around EVs cables, as well as the low thermal conductivity of the insulating materials of traditional high-voltage vehicle cables, it is difficult for the EVs cables to dissipate heat, thereby reducing the ampacity of the cables. To provide a reasonable theoretical basis for improving the ampacity, the influencing factors such as ambient temperature, insulation thickness and thermal conductivity of the insulation layer on the ampacity of EVs cables were studied.
