A diruthenium(III)-μ-oxo complex with amino acid bridges and its oxidative deamination in the presence of oxygen

Abstract A stable diamagnetic complex of the type [(Ru 111 edta) 2 -μ-(amino-acidato) 2 -μ-oxo] 6− is reported. The amino acid bridge in the presence of oxygen undergoes oxidative deamination, as shown by the formation of an α-keto acid and the liberation of NH 3 . The reaction is catalytic.
