Cadmium(II) coordination polymers containing bis(benzimidazole) ligands: Synthesis, crystal structures, sensing and photocatalytic degradation of dye

2021
Abstract Two ternary Cd(II) coordination polymers [Cd(L)(DPA).(H2O)0.5]n (1) and [Cd(L)(chdc)]n (2) (L = 1,4-bis(benzimidazol-1-yl)-2-butene, H2DPA = 2,6-Pyridinedicarboxylic acid, H2chdc = cis-1,2-Cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid) were solvothermally synthesized and characterized. 1 exhibits a rare 3D 3,5T35 framework with the Schafli symbol of {3.4.5}{32.42.5.6.103.11}. 2 possesses 3D coe-3,4-C2/c network with the Schlafli symbol of {42.6.102.12}{42.6}. 1 and 2 can efficiently detection of Fe3+, MnO4−, Cr2O72− and levofloxacin (LEV) in solution with low detection limits. Moreover, the degradation efficiencies of 1 and 2 on methyl violet under UV irradiation can reach 91.5% and 93.4% after 120 min, respectively.
