N-acyloxyalkyl-carboxamide and production thereof

PURPOSE: To obtain a novel compound useful as an intermediate for production of agricultural chemicals and pharmaceutically active substances. CONSTITUTION: This compound is represented by formula I [wherein R 1 is (substituted) alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, arylalkyl or the like; R 2 is (substituted) alkyl; and R 3 is H, halogen or (substituted) alkyl], e.g. N-benzyl-N-(1- acetoxypropyl)-acetamide. The compound represented by formula I is obtained by reacting imine represented by formula II with an anhydride represented by the formula: (R 3 -CH 2 -CO) 2 O in the presence of a base optionally in the presence of a diluent at -30 to 50°C.
