[Interstitial gamma-therapy of patients with cancer of the mucous membrane of the mouth].

In 1984-1986, interstitial gamma-therapy was used in 57 patients for cancer of the oral cavity (28), tongue (16) and lower lip (13). Complete regression was observed in 44 (77.3%) patients. No severe side effects were registered. The treatment proved less effective in cases of large tumor located in proximal areas of the oral cavity.
