Cursos da Saúde: integração e responsabilidade social no enfrentamento da pandemia

The COVID-19 pandemic affected undergraduate health courses, which faced dilemma on how to reconcile the social responsibility of participating in the health care of the population in the municipality and in the state with the bio-safety demands imposed by the pandemic. At Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), there are 14 courses in the health field that share the same space, the same resources and the same academic policies. Thinking together about the experienced challenges was a movement of solidarity, integration and cohesion. The purpose of this article is to report this experience. The context before the pandemic, the performance before ministerial ordinances, the development of guidelines for emergency remote education and the situation of curricular internships are described. It highlights the importance of collective construction in facing the difficulties to guarantee safety, equity and quality in the training of health professionals at UFMG.
