Investigation of the accuracy of the unitary pole approximation

1973
Abstract The accuracy of the unitary pole approximation has been systematically investigated by using a series of potentials with varying strengths of repulsion. Square well potentials are taken and the height and the range of the repulsive part are varied. The two-body binding energy is kept fixed. It is found that the UPA is best in the case of potentials which contain some repulsion whose strength depends on the overall nature of the interaction.
