Synthesis, Crystal Structure and Magnetic Propery of a Cu (II) Supramolecular Complex Bridging Via µ(subscript 1,5)-dca and bpy Ligands

A Cu (Ⅱ) supramolecular complex [Cu (µ(subscript 1,5)-dca) (dca) (bpy)] (subscript n) (dca=dicyanamide, bpy=4, 4' -bipyridine) (1) has been synthesized and structurally as well as magnetically characterized. X-ray crystallography revealed a three-dimensional structure of 1 formed by two sets of parallel 2D sheets interpenetrating at an inclined angle of 74o. The magnetic investigation has showed that 1 displays a weak antiferromagnetic interaction through long µ(subscript 1,5)-dca and bpy bridging pathways.
