High temperature phase equilibria in the system Fe-Mo-C

The Fe-Mo-C system has been investigated in the iron-rich corner. The experimental procedure is based upon controlled solidification, differential thermal analysis, and all the classical means of characterisation. The liquid- solid equilibria are determined and a revised liquidus projection is proposed including phase field boundaries which are in agreement with the observed microstructures and the determined crystallisation paths.
