The utility model discloses a visual detection device for microcracks on the surface of a workpiece, and comprises an image collecting device, an image preprocessing module, a feature processing module and a statistical analysis module which are connected in sequence. The image collecting device is installed on an image collecting platform and used for shooting surface images of the workpiece, and the image preprocessing module is used for performing light unevenness correction, noise-removing filtering process and image enhancement to the shot surface images of the workpiece. The feature processing module is used for image crack segmentation, removal of mistaken segmentation point and crack feature extraction, and the statistical analysis module is used for performing crack warning and crack analysis and obtaining a crack detection report. The visual detection device monitors the microcracks on the surface of the workpiece based on machine vision, and can judge and identify the cracks on the surface of the workpiece after processing the images so as to realize automatic production application.
