Optimization of the particle vibration absorbers as SDOF systems

2017
The paper contemplates the provision of dynamic vibration absorber (DVA) with the few of the impact masses - impact damper (ID) or DVA with the small masses in the container -particle damper (PD). Such originally designed absorbers reduce vibration selectively in maximum vibration mode of electronic devices as MEMS, without introducing vibration in other modes. PD is a passive control device which takes the form of a freely moving masses or particles, constrained by stops attached to the structure under control, i.e. the primary structure. The damping results from the exchange of momentum during impacts among the masses and masses and stops as the structure vibrates. A technique is developed to give the optimal DVA's for the elimination of excessive vibration in harmonic stochastic and impact loaded systems as single degree-of-freedom (SDOF) buffered system.
