Investigations and control measures for tobacco diseases caused by root-knot nematodes in dry land of Jingxi County, Guangxi.

The present study was conducted to investigate the occurrence of tobacco diseases caused by root-knot nematodes in dry land of 15 townships in Jingxi county,Guangxi from 2007 to 2008.Total 86 soil and root samples were collected and analyzed.The results showed that the incidence of root-knot nematodes in 15 townships was 100%.Among 15 townships,the density of root-knot nematodes in Longlin town was the highest with 989 per 100mL soil.The average disease index of 15 townships was 17.34,and the highest disease index(46.89) was recorded in Nanpo town.These results indicated that the tobacco diseases caused by root-knot nematodes were popular in dry land of Jingxi county of Guangxi.Further,the occurrence causes and control measures of root-knot nematodes disease in tobacco planted in dry land of Jingxi county have also been discussed.
