Cómo construir conocimiento sobre comunicación y jóvenes

RESUMEN El articulo intenta dar respuesta a como construir conocimiento sobre comunicacion y jovenes en America Latina. Para ello, el autor realiza un recorrido que inicia con fuentes basicas que apuntan a la produccion de conocimiento sobre jovenes, tomando como referencia a Michel Foucault. Luego, aludiendo a los estudios culturales, propone un acercamiento que no pretende restringirse a la propuesta anglosajona, sino que mantiene la apertura a los debates que se plantean desde America Latina. En este sentido, nos habla de una reestructuracion de las ciencias sociales, del enfoque particular de los estudios culturales y del contexto historico de Latinoamerica, afirmando en ella una modernidad tardia. SUMMARY This article intends answer the question How to build knowledge on communication and Latin American young people? Based on Michel Foucault the author begins by reviewing basic texts on the production of knowledge with concerns about young people; later he makes reference to cultural studies not only by including the British proposal but also by staying open to debates coming from Latin America. In this order of ideas, the author writes about the restructuration of Social Sciences, the particular ground of the cultural studies and the historical context of Latin America presented as late modernity.
