A PROPOSAL TO DEVELOP AN EXCHANGE OF KNOWLEDGE CONCERNING SPEED MANAGEMENT

The control of driving speed is one of the major subjects of road safety policy. The study reported here was intended to develop a proposal describing how the exchange of knowledge in this field could be organized. Working meetings were organized with policy makers and administrators, where the need for knowledge in the field of speed control and preferences for certain type of knowledge exchange were considered. A distinction was made between: knowledge regarding the content of policy measures, and knowledge regarding the organization of policy, i.e. the process related aspects.
