Static voltage stability margin considering the coupling of natural gas and power system

With the increasing reliance on gas supply, the voltage stability of power system is impacted by natural gas system. It will be too optimistic to analyze the voltage stability margin separately considering the power system constraints discarding the coupling constraints. The aim of this paper is to study the effect of natural gas system on the voltage stability of power system. In order to analyze it, a continuous power flow considering the constraints of the coupling system was proposed. Case studies demonstrated that the inadequate supply of natural gas and the correlation between gas and power load will result in a decrease of the voltage stability margin.
