A new electroluminescent boron compound containing μ-oxo bridge

A novel dinuclear boron compound, B 2 (O)Ph 2 (Meq) 2 .H 2 O.CH 2 Cl 2 (Ph = phenyl, Meq = 2-methyl-8-quinolinolate) was synthesized and characterized. After the investigation of several doping concentrations, the organic electroluminescent (EL) device ITO / PEDOT / PVK + 5 wt% B 2 (O)Ph 2 (Meq) 2 I LiF / Al (PEDOT = poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene), PVK = poly(N-vinylcarbazole)) was employed to investigate the EL properties. The EL device exhibits blue-green light with maximum luminance of 45 cd/m 2 at 22 V.
