Hemangiopericitoma nasosinusal – uma rara ocorrência

espanolOs Hemangiopericitomas (HPC) sao tumores vasculares raros, que se desenvolvem a partir das celulas mesenquimatosas com diferenciacao pericitica. Localizam-se, mais frequentemente, nos membros, retroperitoneu e pele. A sua ocorrencia a nivel da cavidade nasal e seios perinasais e pouco comum. Estes tumores tem um potencial maligno muito variavel, e pouco previsivel com base em criterios clinicos e histologicos. Estao descritas recorrencias locais ou metastizacao a distância, ate varias decadas apos o tratamento da lesao inicial. Por este motivo, e recomendavel uma vigilância apertada e prolongada. Neste artigo apresenta-se o caso de um doente com um HPC nasosinusal, observado, inicialmente, em contexto de urgencia por uma massa polipoide unilateral direita de aspeto angiomatoso e friavel ao toque. Realizou-se exerese cirurgica da lesao. Decorridos 3 anos apos a intervencao, o doente mantem-se assintomatico, sem sinais de recidiva local ou metastatica. portuguesHemangiopericytoma (HPC) is an exceedingly rare tumor of uncertain malignant potential. HPC is a vascular tumor arising from mesenchymal cell with pericytic differentiation. Most of the tumors have been reported in the extremities, retroperitoneum and skin. Occurrences of this tumor in the nasal cavity or paranasal sinuses are rare. Long term follow up is mandatory because the clinical and histological criteria for prediction of biologic behavior are imprecise. There are reports of recurrence and metastasis many years after radical resection. We report herein a case of sinonasal HPC, who presented in our department with a polypoid lesion blocking the right nasal cavity. The tumor was removed by wide surgical resection. The patient had normal postoperative course of healing and 3 years later he remains asymptomatic, without signs of recurrence or metastases.
