• Flexible supercapacitor is fabricated by electrodeposition of PANI. • Areal capacitance of 5120 mF.cm−2 in 1M H2SO4 at 100 100 mA.cm−2 is achieved. • 1.6% decrement in specific capacitance after 1000 cycles in PVA/H2SO4.
