The invention discloses a low-power design based cruising method of a forest fire monitoring device of a power transmission line. Factors including microclimate, fire-related folkways, historical statistical rules of forest fires and power supply conditions are taken into consideration, and forest fire monitoring behaviors of the forest fire monitoring device of the power transmission line are optimized. The optimized forest fire monitoring device can reduce energy consumed during cruising greatly, and improve the efficiency and reliability of forest fire monitoring. The time interval of cruising of forest fire monitoring is adjusted dynamically and adaptively, the method is adapted to different application environments, the development trend of a forest fire can be monitored dynamically, and decision basis is provided for staff of a monitoring center.
