Broadband High-Gain Frequency-Scanned Continuous Transverse Stub Array Fed by Slow-wave Stripline

2020
A high-gain broadband frequency-scanned continuous transverse stub (CTS) array with wide beam-scanning angle fed by the slow-wave stripline is proposed. The array consists of the radiation stubs on the upper layer and the feed structure on the lower one. The beam-scanning range is increased by the suggested slow-wave stripline. A 16-element array is designed and simulated. The simulated results show that the array achieves a wide impendence bandwidth of 69.3% from 8 to 15.14 GHz with a reflection coefficient below -10 dB. The main beam scans from -51° to 54° with the peak gain varying within 9.46 ~ 17.39 dBi. The presented antenna array features broadband, wide beam-scanning angle and high gain.
