Screw and ring molecules in amorphous and crystalline chalcogens S, Se, Te

Abstract In viscous sulfur a spin density almost double the value predicted by Eisenberg and Tobolsky has been found. Studies on amorphous Se and Se-S mixtures and on the correlation between etch figures and optical rotation in Te h are described. The paper also gives recent results relating to two kinds of fibrous sulfur (S ω and S ω ,) to laminar sulfur (S x ) and to “Pinkus' sulfur”.
