COORDINATE REMOTE CONTROL EQUIPMENT FOR HANDLING RADIOACTIVE ISOTOPES

The design, specifications, and performance of an electric remote- control manipulator for handling radioactive materials are described. The manipulator and auxiliary devices are placed in a 5 x 0.8 x 2.75 m casing with a 20mm lead shielding; the control station is ~4 m distant. The vacuum, compressed air, and water systems are also described. (R.V.J.)
