Black mildew disease on the neotropical forest species Aspidosperma polyneuron in Brazil, caused by Meliola aspidospermatis

A black mildew disease caused byMeliola aspidospermatis (Meliolales) was observed on leaves of the neotropical forest speciesAspidosperma polyneuron in a commercial nursery in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. This is the first record of this fungus in Brazil, previously known only from Argentina.
