The invention provides a word bank updating method, a system and a cloud server used for an input method application program. The method comprises the following steps that the cloud server receives and saves registration information of a user; the cloud server saves files uploaded by the user based on the registration information; the cloud server analyzes the files so as to acquire high-frequency vocabulary associated with the user and saves the high-frequency vocabulary as a work bank; the input method application program is associated with the cloud server when the user uses the input method application program in a client terminal; and the cloud server updates the word bank in the input method application program in the client based on the word bank in accordance with preset principles. By means of the method, the word bank of the input method application program can be updated by obtaining the high-frequency vocabulary associated with the user, and therefore demands of the user are satisfied, update of the word bank is targeted, and therefore user experience is improved.
