The electronic structures of some acyclic molecules containing phosphorus, nitrogen, and oxygen

Abstract The ultraviolet photoelectron spectra have been investigated for several acyclic molecules of general structure P(NMe 2 ) x (OR) 3−x , where x = 0–3 and R = Me, Et, or isopropyl. Band assignments for the “lone-pair” ionization processes have been proposed with the aid of MNDO SCF MO computations for comparison tris-dimethylaminophosphine oxide has also been studied.
