The technology provides a birch plywood-based insulating heat insulation box, which is used for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) ship, has higher strength and rigidity at the low temperature, is capable of withstanding impact and is simple in structure and convenient to prepare. The insulating heat insulation box comprises a cuboid-shaped housing formed by fixedly connecting six face plates; a plurality of parallel spacer plates are arranged in the housing; the peripheries of the spacer plates make contact with the inner wall of the housing; the spacer plates are vertical to the length direction or the width direction of the cuboid; the internal space of the housing is divided into a plurality of compartments with widths of 120-180mm by the spacer plates; the compartments are filled with perlite; the spacer plates are fixedly connected with the face plates; the spacer plates and the face plates are made from birch plywood with widths not less than 6mm.
