Mapeamento de risco em áreas urbanas densamente habitadas: o morro do Jaburuna (Vila Velha, ES, Brasil)

2020
Morro do Jaburuna is a densely populated rocky complex in the municipality of Vila Velha (Espirito Santo, Brazil). The steepness with blocks and talus deposits mean that the slopes are highly susceptible to mass movement. The adopted methodology is an adaptation of already accepted methodologies and its goal is to facilitate the identification of at-risk areas by the vulnerable population. The subsequent mapping of risk areas and past events subsidized the sectorization of unsuitable and protected areas for urban occupation, enabling greater safety for the resident population. Hazards had to ranked in terms of importance so as to prioritize actions to reduce and prevent risks, and enable public officials and society to respond to them.
