Effect of Tiron on Electroless Fabrication of Nanowires within Alumina Templates

2006
Large scale fabrication of functional nanostructures such as multi-component nanowires with controlled architecture and compostion is still a challenging task. As reported previously [1] electroless deposition is a very promising method that can fulfill these needs. However, surface treatment is needed in order to understand and control the deposition process in high-aspect ratio 1-D nano-cavities. The purpose of this work was to reveal the interaction of Tiron (1,2-dihydroxy-3, 5-benzenedisulfonic acid disodium salt) with the surface of alumina template and to characterize the effect of this compound in electroless fabrication of Co-Fe-B nanowires within alumina template.
