The rehabilitation with loss of vertical dimension of occlusion is complex and laborious for the dentist. Therefore were assessed the presence of loss of posterior support, patients’ history of wearing, interocclusal distance, facial appearance and phonetics. Detected the loss of vertical dimension of the occlusion the chosen restorative treatment was an overlay splint. This therapeutics is reversible, and has reduced costs and operating when compared to other treatments. In addition this study presents the This paper shows that beside these advantages overlay splint also has a new design that covers not only the occlusal tooth remaining, coating the entire buccal surface of these teeth extending to the cervix. Such design makes the line uniting teeth and splint indistinguishable optimizing aesthetics (AU)
