An Islanding Detection Technique based on Voltage and Current Disturbances

2020
Islanding detection in microgrid is an essential requirement for developing safety and efficient functioning of a power system. This research work presents a new impassive technique of islanding detection for grid connected distributed generation system. This method depends on voltage disturbance and current disturbance at the time of islanding. The new islanding detection technique is based on multiplication of voltage disturbance and current disturbance (MOVDACD). The technique proposed is suitable to identify the islanding condition in 0% active power mismatch. It is tested for several non islanding conditions. MATLAB R2016a software is used to simulate a microgrid.
