Research on Bionics Using Parallel Manipulator Actuated by Pneumatic Actuators

Pneumatic Artificial Muscles (PAMs) and Pneumatic Cylinders (PCs) are the two main pneumatic actuators. New types of parallel mechanism configurations with joints are originally displayed in bionic joints, humanoid joints and robot joints, which can be devoted to robots design. Discussion results reveal that pneumatic actuators can be combined with parallel manipulator, which is proved to be a simple, effective and easy to design joints in robot.
