A light emitting device with non-activated phosphor

2006
The invention relates to a light emitting device (1) having a radiation-emitting element, for example a light emitting diode (LED) and a phosphor (3) which is able to absorb a part of light emitted from the radiation emitting element radiation and light having a wavelength send, which is different from the wavelength of the absorbed radiation. The apparatus further comprises scattering particles (4) which are able to scatter a part of the radiation emitted by the emitting element and / or radiation to scatter a portion of the emitted by the phosphor (3) light. The scattering particles (4) consist of non-activated fluorescent material, whereby the manufacture is simplified.
