Control procedures for removal of heat with cooling coils from the regenerators of catalytic crackers

1971
1. The main procedures suitable for removing heat by means of cooling coils from the regenerators in catalytic cracking units are discussed and analyzed; these procedures consist in varying the temperature difference between the medium in the regenerator and the cooling water in the coils. 2. A novel control procedure based on variation of the pressure in the coils and the boiling point of water is proposed. 3. Advantages of the procedure proposed are the broad control range and the uniform comparatively low temperature all along the wall of the coil, which ensures reliable operation of the cooling coil.
