Reliability and validity of assessment questionnaire on clinical first-aid ability of nurses in non-emergency department
2017
Objective
To investigate the reliability and validity of the assessment questionnaire on clinical first-aid ability of nurses in non-emergency department and provide a scientific tool for the evaluation of clinical first-aid ability of nurses in non-emergency department.
Methods
General information questionnaire and the non-emergency department nurses' clinical first-aid ability assessment questionnaire were applied on 1 008 nurses. Split-half reliability, internal consistency reliability and retest reliability were used to test the reliability of the questionnaire. The content validity and structure validity were applied to test the validity.
Results
The Cronbach's α coefficient, split-half reliability coefficient and retest reliability coefficient of the questionnaire were 0.927, 0.861 and 0.977. The correlation coefficients among the various dimensions were from 0.298 to 0.810. The correlation coefficients between dimensions and total score were from 0.534 to 0.947. Exploratory factor analysis was performed to select five factors. The cumulative variance contribution rate was 58.28%.
Conclusions
The questionnaire has good reliability and validity with reasonable structure. It can be used as a tool to assess clinical first-aid ability of nurses in non-emergency department.
