Detection and control of mild strains of potato leaf roll virus

Physalis floridana tests of 591 potato tubers, all but 28 of which were taken from foundation seed lots, showed that 25.4% were infected with a mild strain of potato leaf roll virus. The selection and propagation of sub-clones which gave a negativeP. floridana test resulted in good control of the virus.
