El cuerpo negado

The theme of this work focuses on a problem of a socio-scientific nature: stigmatization and pathologization of corporalities that do not respond to health standards. The objective of this work is to delve beyond the definitions that are given to this phenomenon from the academic point of view, through a politically correct language, to investigate the social reality in which the deviant corporalities of those norms are located. For this, a documentary analysis of secondary sources from different areas such as anthropology, sociology or social work has been carried out. The results show the construction of a social, economic and scientific framework built on a utilitarian ideology that seeks to build useful, moldable and productive bodies that adapt to the biometric norm, they show the need to rethink the physicality of the disabled from their own perspective.
