FACTORS AFFECTING ABSCISSION IN SPIRODELA OLIGORHIZA (LEMNACEAE)
1978
SUMMARY
Exposure of plants of Spirodela oligorhiza to ultraviolet light results in a high percentage of abscission of daughter colonies. The levels of endogenous ABA and ethylene released in irradiated plants were similar to those of the non-irradiated controls. Pre-incubation on IAA very significantly reduced UV-induced abscission in spite of causing a large release of ethylene.
