Flame-spotting : Public access

The effects of fire can be minimised by using materials which are difficult to ignite and burn with the minimum of smoke. The paper describes how London Underground's policy of restricting the use of highly ignitable materials on trains was put to the test in a series of fire tests carried out on a modern Underground car.
